Naan Flatbread Pizzas

Lately I've been trying to reinvent some of our favorite recipes to make our meals healthier.  One of my favorite things to make are Naan Pizzas.  They're so simple and quick to make.  I've tried several different combinations, but my favorite so far has turned out to be spinach, pepperoni with roasted red peppers.

I brushed the crusts with some basil pesto and extra virgin olive oil.  I used marinara, fresh spinach, turkey pepperoni, red peppers and mozzarella.

I used Three Ovens Naan Flatbread.  This leavened flatbread is actually an Indian style bread.  It makes for a light and airy crust with a smoky flavor.  I've also seen some of the flavored Naan breads such as garlic and sweet chili.  They make a great crust for grilling pizzas, baking them in the oven or putting them in the toaster oven.

I love to scatter some leftover red peppers on the pan and brush them with olive oil and coarse sea salt to roast in the oven alongside our pizzas.

Try these for a quick dinner one night.  You'll love them.  Or I hope you will!

  2. Oh my goodness that looks amazing! I must try this at home sometime. I have never thought to use naan bread before.
The idea of roasting the extra peppers on the side is brilliant, normally I put them in the fridge and end up forgetting about them and thrxowing them out when they go bad!
    Love this idea so much!
