Comfort

I haven't posted on my blog this week.
I have so many nice emails from readers to return and messages to respond to.
I would like to briefly share that on Friday, Jan. 4th, I unexpectedly lost my Uncle.  This has been a tough week for our family as we are all very close.  He was always an important person in my life.  I'll miss his smile and his laugh.  I'll miss the sound of his voice.  I'll miss his funny jokes.  He was very generous.  He helped me out many times throughout my life.  He didn't brag.  He wasn't proud.  He wasn't fancy.  He was just a good man.  He didn't have to tell people the kind of person he was, you just knew.  He had a kind heart.  He loved his family and loved helping others.  He left behind a son, a daughter and a wife of 32 years.  I am praying for strength, rest and peace that extends all understanding for them.

There are so many memories that I have of him.
We loved him so much and he loved my little HPK dearly.
He was so much a part of our lives.
I will think of him everyday and he will never be forgotten.

He carried these words with him in his wallet on a little card:

"In a time when hope is lost and you're filled with hurt and pain, Your faith in God is tested your strength you must regain, Although it is a struggle; a challenge day to day, put your hands together now it's time to pray.  For God will hear your message, in that He will rejoice.  For He is always with you, He always hears your voice.  So in this time of heartache when you lose your will to try, always trust your faith in God and keep your spirits high."

It is so comforting to have these words that he left behind for us.  I am so thankful for him and the time I got to spend with him.  I was so blessed to be able to spend this past week in TN with my family.

Even with this loss in my family, I have had many prayers answered this week.

P.S.  I would like to tell all of my readers about the Fancy Little Things community of lovely ladies.  It is an inspiring and encouraging network and I hope you'll check them out!

Happy Monday :)
